Blank Cassette Tapes- Continued Impact
Blank cassette tapes are an art form of sorts. They have been used for decades to compile long lists of songs to capture moments of time. Some people gave them as tokens of their affections; others gave them as ways to pass on new music to their friends. These could also continue around in other circles and pass from friend to friend as music tastes continue on.
I remember, in the days before mp3's, I would listen to the radio for hours just to hear my favorite song. And if I was really lucky I would be able to catch those moments on blank cassette tapes. But it was never perfect; there was always a lot of hit or miss. I remember catching plenty of DJ small talk and commercials in my search for the perfect mix tape.
Some people even stretch their artistic abilities to the blank cassette labels. Those can be decorated with markers and stickers. Quite often, when I blank cassette tape was a gift a creative name was made up and decorated appropriately. This really was an art form in and of itself. It was not just about the music it held, it was also about the presentation.
Improvements in technological innovations have resulted in the way the recording is done. CDs and DVDs have replaced the blank cassette tapes. In order to improve the quality of recording digital audio tape has come into being. MP3 invention has resulted in easy recording of mixes. One can download songs from Internet and record it on CD. On completion one can print CD label also.
There are still those who swear by good old blank cassette tapes. There are even online communities where people sign up to swap their own cassette mixes with others in an attempt to expend one's music knowledge. Those can be a lot of fun and very amusing. People are exposed to such different music as they go through their lives all over the country and the world.
Wherever technology will take us, we'll never forget the cassette tapes and the mark they left in our society. It converted all of us into music mixers and permitted creativity to flow. And we continued this into the new CD and mp3 world, but it's not such fun any more as with those tape mixes.
Blank cassette tapes can be artistic. For years they were used to record special moments and compilations of songs. They were given as gifts and used to share music with friends. Blank cassette labels were artistically decorated and given a name to describe the music it contained. Now we have DVDs and CDs which provide better recording quality. There is also a digital audio tape for better quality, and mp3s which enable you to find and download songs from the Internet onto a CD. Online groups exist for buyers, sellers, and traders. But we will remember the blank cassette tape forever as it let our creativity flow.
